The West Coast Fishing Club’s Far Beyond Culinary Series held every year at The Clubhouse offers one-of-a kind culinary experiences paired with our world-class fishing in the beauty of Haida Gwaii. With our continued partnership with Canada’s 100 Best, the definitive guide to Canada’s culinary scene, some of the world’s most renowned chefs have taken part in our culinary-themed event series, including David Hawksworth, Normand Laprise, Vikram Vij, Anthony Walsh and Jamie Kennedy.
Our marquee event is the David Hawksworth & Friends Culinary Adventure, which features celebrity chefs selected by Vancouver’s leading chef and restaurateur. Every year, David invites guest celebrity chefs from around the world to The Clubhouse for a week of culinary brilliance. Guests enjoy glorious mid-summer days on the water and culinary artistry, including daily interactive cooking classes and evening meals that feature indescribable themed fare and carefully chosen wine pairings by a leading sommelier.
Our Far Beyond Culinary event series also includes a barbeque-themed event, Beef, Barbeque & Bourbon that feature some of the world’s most renowned pitmasters, including Tuffy Stone, five-time winner of the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational. During this trip, guests indulge in world-class barbeque, the finest cuts of steak prepared by one of North America’s steakhouses and daily hand-crafted bourbon cocktails featuring Jack Daniel’s and Woodford Reserve.
To highlight top culinary talent from overseas, we host our annual International Culinary Series. In 2018, we invited acclaimed Michelin-star chef from London, England, Gary Foulkes of Angler Restaurant to headline our trip bringing over 20 years of his Michelin-star restaurant experience to the shores of Haida Gwaii. Stay tuned, our guest international chef for 2019 will be announced later this year.
