September Fishing – Saving the Best for Last!
One of the best-kept secrets about fishing in Haida Gwaii is that September is one of the best times of year to enjoy a marine wilderness getaway. Late-season fishing at Langara Island has an extra layer of mystique, especially after all the other lodges have closed but summer still hangs in the air and large Chinook and Coho salmon remain in abundance.
In recent years, more and more guests have been discovering the special feeling of having all those season-long hot spots entirely to themselves. That is why we have kept the fires burning a little longer each year at Langara Island.
The fishing and the weather continue to hold up in September, with the waters surrounding Langara Island providing plenty of action, including the large 12-18-pound northern coho that are typically in abundance at this time of year. And the weather? Downright hot around The Clubhouse deck during the last days of the season, with calm seas and easy fishing out on the east side and Langara Rocks areas.
Have a quick look through these scenes of September and find out why a late-season adventure should be of interest to you!
